Growing together: our Educational Program

Neurodiversity, Nutrition & Nervous System Awareness for Children

Through fun games we explain the science of health and neurodiversity so all children feel included, learn how to relax and appreciate healthy eating habits.

We foster neurodiversity inclusion, emotional regulation, and healthy lifestyle habits among children aged 6–16. Through experiential learning, age-appropriate storytelling, interactive games, and simplified neuroscience, children learn to embrace their own differences and those of their peers.

Our playful, science-based workshops help children:

  • Feel included
  • Regulate their emotions
  • Understand their brains
  • Build healthy habits for life

What we offer

● Inclusion & empathy through play and stories
● Addressing stigma and bullying with curiosity and kindness

My Tummy Talks to My Brain

Why it matters

Early neurodivergence awareness and inclusion support

Childhood is the most important phase of brain and nervous system development.

What children learn nowadays about emotions, stress, food, safety, belonging, shapes their mental health, confidence, learning ability, and resilience for life.

At the same time, neurodivergent children (ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory sensitivity, etc.) are especially vulnerable to:

  • Late diagnosis

  • Exclusion and bullying

  • Chronic stress

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Inflammation-related health issues

But neurodivergence is not a disease, it is a natural variation of the human brain.

''With the right environment, children don’t just cope, they thrive''

Nutrition, inflammation & brain health

Recent studies highlight a strong link between nutrition, immune-brain interactions, and neurodevelopment. Food directly affects:

  • Mood

  • Focus

  • Energy

  • Behaviour

  • Emotional stability

Many children today suffer from:

  • Hidden nutrient deficiencies

  • Blood sugar crashes

  • Gut-brain imbalances

  • Chronic inflammation

''We teach children (and parents) in a simple, joyful way how food can become a superpower for learning and emotional balance''.

Self-regulation from early childhood: a foundation for lifelong wellbeing

Early childhood is the most sensitive and formative period for brain and nervous system development. During these years, the foundations of emotional, cognitive, and sensory self-regulation are shaped not only by genetics, but also by the quality of emotional care, safety, and environmental stability a child experiences.

Children who learn early self-regulation skills:

  • Focus better
  • Handle stress more easily
  • Communicate emotions safely
  • Reduce anxiety and overwhelm
  • Build stronger social confidence

Without these skills, chronic stress in childhood can increase the risk of:

  • Burnout
  • Anxiety & depression
  • Attention difficulties
  • Autoimmune & inflammatory conditions later in life

''That’s why at COM we focus not only on the mind, but on the entire nervous system''
