EAA Bus tour:
Companies that work for people with disabilities

Corner’s of Movement first corporate event!

We had the opportunity to take various training and workplace sites where companies could find future workers with disabilities. During the tour, the contact persons on site explained us the specific modalities of vocational rehabilitation and ways to transition to the general labour market.

-1st stop- We went to BwB GmbH, an organization that started with employing people with disabilities by peeling potatoes back in the 70´s. Today they are huge with around 400 employees in Berlin. Their production has diversified to different economic sectors including a special cocktail machine named Kukki.

-2nd stop FAW – Fortbildungsakademie der Wirtschaft GmbH, which welcomes people that have burnout, mental health issues or are lost in their career. Here they can be prepared for the next steps and there is no pressure as the program is pretty flexible on what the workers can do. They try different job tasks and then they can come back to the job market when they decide on what they feel more skilled and comfortable.

-3rd vocational training center of the RKI BBW GmbH Red Cross Institute Berlin, also a wonderful program with a nice cantine and at a peaceful location.

Life is better when you feel included and that is what we work for at COM.
